Ministry of Culture and Tourism has a development blue print,  predicated on the strength that, beside oil, the culture and tourism sub-sector, is the second best alternative for revenue generation, wealth creation, youth empowerment as well as veritable avenue to attract direct foreign investment for the industrial transformation of the State.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is resolutely committed to effective and efficient discharge of its statutory responsibilities to the satisfaction of its clients.  To achieve this, the Ministry has:

  • Set up zonal culture/tourism offices

  • Set up Local government tourism committees to ensure that all parts of the state are sensitized and involved in tourism development.

  • Set up service delivery unit, manned by competent officers to ensure that performance, standards and targets set in discharging responsibilities and services to clients are effectively and efficiently met.

  • Set up a monitoring unit to ensure that the service delivery units perform.

  • Set up state and local government craft council for packaging and promoting of indigenous arts and craft in the State.

  • Provide institutionalized machinery for public policy dialogue on arts, culture and tourism issues to ensure feedback mechanism.
